 SOLD Hinoki Cypress
I got into the hobby after seeing a Hinoki cypress at an exhibit. I was so impressed I signed up for a beginners workshop. A few years later I found a Hinoki in a Chicago nursery, I took it to a workshop with Susumu Nakamura in 1985 where we set the basic style. Since then it has just grown, filled out, and prospered. Hinokis need to be thinned out every few years and this one is due, but, somehow I just can't bring myself to take the shears to the lush foliage. This bonsai is in a very pleasing oval pot that sets off it's 54" height. Overall height is 54", from the soil surface 47". It's in a ceramic oval pot.
