This is one of the first major trees I acquired. Chase Rosade, a recognized bonsai master, styled it in a demonstration in 1978. I was the successful bidder in an auction and have enjoyed the tree ever since. This variety is often called blue shimpaku since the foliage has a bluish cast. That color can be enhanced by fertilizing with an acid based fertilizer. Like most junipers, this variety is more forgiving of lack of attention and makes a good starter variety for newer bonsai artists. The overall height is 36", from the soil surface 31". The pot is a nice Japanese ceramic with clean lines. The price includes all packaging, handling, and shipping charges, a $250.00 value. Your bonsai will be packed in a sturdy carton filled with styrofoam peanuts and strapped to a pallet. We ship via UPS Freight. By shipping in this manner we have had no damage to trees or pots. You'll also end up with enough peanuts to take care of your Christmas needs for several years. $1250.00SALE $600.00Description and photos, Sept 2010.Juniper bonsai |
